Role Overview
Postman is seeking a product-minded AI Software Engineer to help design and implement AI-powered features and workflows across its platform. You’ll join a talented team of engineers, researchers, designers, and product managers to bring AI tools like Postbot, Postman’s AI Assistant, to millions of developers worldwide. This role blends research, prototyping, and production development to push the boundaries of AI in developer productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement AI-driven features, agent architectures, and large-scale experiments.
- Build and manage data pipelines, evaluate benchmarks, and optimize AI workflows.
- Develop prototypes from research concepts and translate them into production-ready features.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver features on time.
- Stay up to date with the latest AI/ML advancements, especially in NLP and generative AI.
- Participate in code reviews, share best practices, and help maintain high engineering standards.
Qualifications
- 2–5+ years of experience in software engineering, preferably shipping AI features or infrastructure.
- Solid understanding of ML concepts, with hands-on experience in NLP and generative models.
- Ability to design and run ML experiments, engineer prototypes, and build data tooling.
- Experience with Node.js or JavaScript is a plus.
- Strong product sense with a “validate first, perfect later” mindset.
- Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Passion for AI, developer tools, and delivering world-class products at scale.
