About This Role
As a Data Science Analyst at American Express, you’ll be a key contributor to model development and innovation efforts within Commercial Collections and Credit. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional partners to identify modeling opportunities, build intelligent risk systems, and explore the use of AI/ML techniques to improve business outcomes.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting commercial collections and credit data science initiatives
- Enhancing existing models and developing new predictive variables
- Integrating new data sources from consumer, commercial, and internal datasets
- Conducting AI/ML research to elevate model excellence and business impact
- Identifying trends and insights through case reviews and data exploration
- Working with stakeholders to ensure model usage drives measurable outcomes
What We’re Looking For
Essential Requirements:
- 0–2 years of experience in analytics, data science, or machine learning
- Postgraduate degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, or Management from top-tier institutions
- Hands-on knowledge of econometric/statistical modeling and ML techniques
- Strong coding skills in Python, PySpark, and SQL/Hive
- Analytical thinking with the ability to work independently on complex, unstructured tasks
- Strong communication, collaboration, and project execution skills
