Role Overview
As an MTS – AI/ML Engineer at Pure Storage, you will be at the forefront of developing and implementing generative AI applications to solve complex business challenges. Your work will span advanced AI research, experimentation, and deployment of production-grade solutions powered by large language models (LLMs). You’ll collaborate with product teams to create integrated AI solutions that enhance productivity, optimize operations, and deliver measurable business value.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead exploration and adoption of cutting-edge generative AI technologies.
- Identify, experiment, and rapidly deliver AI solutions on a “fail fast” basis.
- Develop custom production-grade AI applications using LLMs such as Claude and OpenAI models.
- Implement LLM evaluation and prompt management best practices.
- Build secure, high-performance LLM-powered applications with frameworks like Langgraph and Llama Index.
- Address LLM security challenges and implement robust safeguards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end AI solutions.
- Work with proprietary data formats, analyze datasets, and fine-tune models for tasks such as code review and customer support automation.
- Optimize AI workflows for cost savings, productivity, and scalability.
Qualifications
- Proven experience with LLM application development and frameworks such as Langchain, Langgraph, or Llama Index.
- Hands-on expertise with Claude, OpenAI, or similar foundational models.
- Knowledge of LLM evaluation methods and prompt engineering.
- Familiarity with LLM inference, serving open-source models, and Model Context Protocol.
- Proficiency in Python and experience with software tools like Git and JIRA.
- Understanding of machine learning with TensorFlow or PyTorch.
- Experience with data storage technologies (SQL, NoSQL, Hadoop).
- Basic understanding of cloud computing and containerization.
- Knowledge of CI/CD and version control best practices.
